“The four corners of the triangle” is a book review by Ammar Masood, a famous writer, columnist, and analyst.

He was writing his critical views on the newly published book “Waqt Se Paray” but what came out was a masterpiece short story. Let’s read.

The debate is long overdue as to whether literature is merely a legacy of a special class or whether its quality of being the public is the only evidence for classical literature.

Is it meant to convey to the readers an important point, an action, and an idea cooked in the oven of experience, or is literature just a simple personal expression.

Are the communication of a point and an idea the basic condition or should be the basic aim to take care of the requirements of art and genre?

More by the same writer:

According to a very simple division, we have the opportunity to look at two types of writings in the study of literature; One is easy and the other is difficult and complicated.

The question is, aren’t the writings that go beyond the ordinary mental level literature? Can’t he be called a writer? On the other hand, how accurate it is to say that what is understood by all does not remain literature but becomes popular.

Both these theories have their own critics, the full definition of literature is trapped somewhere between these two clans.

This debate was sparked by the fact that after a long time I read a book in which these two conditions are very similar, the tone of which is public but there is a deep philosophy hidden in it.

“Waqat Se Paray” is a wonderful book. Not only is this book written by three authors at the same time, but it is also surprising that even after reading the book, its genre cannot be decided.

Writers of the Book

Saima Zaidi: The poetess and one of the writers of the book “Waqt Se Paray”

Before we move on, let’s talk about the authors of this book.

One of the three writers is our friend Saima Zaidi, who writes very good poetry in Urdu. Saima lives in Germany. She is a prolific writer of poems and Ghazals.

The other author is Gul Sher, who is a government officer but his creativity has not been affected as he is a man of research and exploration.

This book review by Ammar Masood is itself a masterpiece short story that bores nowhere during recitation: EN

He is in love with a man who is a well-known poet, writer, novelist, filmmaker, musician, and songwriter, known to the world as “Gulzar”.

He spent most of his life knowing more and more about Gulzar.

The third author of the book is Prof. Dr. Asuman Belen ÖZCAN, who heads the Urdu department at Ankara University. She is a well-known scholar and literary figure.

She is also an orator and a linguist. She has authored several books and research articles.

Her books have also become part of the curriculum of Turkish universities.

Not only do these three authors seem to blend in with the words and lines of this book, but it also includes another color and that color is the “Color of Gulzar”.

My First Opinion about the Book

Prof. Dr. Asuman Belen ÖZCAN: One of the writer of the book “Waqt Se Paray”

At first, it seemed that the book was a travelogue, in which three friends set out on a journey and the journey was not of “Desawar” but of Bahawalpur.

After a while, it became clear that this is not a travelogue, it is the story of three writers, who are addressing “Gulzar” standing on the ascension of their art.

Later Opinion

After reading a few more pages, I realized that this is not a story but a review of a film, a discussion of the characters in Gulzar’s film “Lakin”.

This book discusses the mysterious role of “Eva”. It includes a critical review of the character of “Sameer” and the story of “Miraj Ali” and the story of “Tara”.

It discusses the film’s unique dialogue, “Waqt guzar jata hai par marta thori hai!”

A closer look at the book revealed that this is actually the history of poetry.

It is the story is from Wali Deccani to Parveen Shakir. It is the story of the simplicity of Ghalib, Mir, and Momin.

Now the story is that this book is over and the style of the book could not be decided.

But still, the breadth of the language, the depth of knowledge, and the taste of wisdom are present in the mind and heart.

The plot of the Book

Gul Sher Butt: One of the writers of the book “Waqt Se Paray”

The story is that three friends go on a trip. A journey whose destination is not important but the path is important.

The conversation on the way is important, the ways of thinking are important, and the new styles of thinking are important.

The conversation and the thought itself is the book.

The conversation is not coherence, but this incoherence has its own beauty, while the nucleus of conversation is a “Gulzar”. But sometimes it seems that “Gulzar” is a symbol while the real purpose is love, an expression of love and a mystery: A book review by Ammar Masood

Three travelers accompany the reader on this journey, immersing themselves in the history of literature. They give the argument of a verse from another verse.

These travelers recite poems, talk about philosophy, invent new meanings of words and explore new places of love.

The text is smooth but not common, the language is simple but the topics are wise and the tone is philosophical.

The book is also the story of three intellectual friends and an expression of devotion to “Gulzar”.

At every turn, the reader is in search of what points of wisdom are being discussed.

Baba Farid to Gautama:

Following are the main noteworthy points in this books:

  • Is French philosopher Henri Bergson the main subject or the Punjabi Sufi poet Bulla Shah?
  • Is Nietzsche’s philosophy under discussion or is Nazeer Akbar Abadi’s poem the subject of discussion?
  • Is Freud being discussed or is it meant to express devotion to Farid-ud-Din Ganj Shukr?
  • Are travelers talking about metaphysics or the effects of supernatural life?
  • Is human Philosophy being discussed or the reasons for the downfall of Bahadur Shah Zafar?
  • Is Gautama’s philosophy being explained or is the poem “Gulzar” being covered?

It is amazing that such a brilliant discussion of knowledge and wisdom can be gathered in a single book.

Devotion to Gulzar’s Poetry

Gulzar Sahib: Poet, Writer, Film Maker

The ascension of eloquence is admirable. The way these three intellectuals have devotion to “Gulzar” is enviable. They are also fans of Gulzar’s poetry and filmmaking too.

These three travelers are also lovers of songs, lovers of story, lovers of music, but most of all, these three writers are convinced of the insight of the human psyche of Gulzar.

According to them, Gulzar touches the pulse of the human psyche in every organ and speaks in simple metaphors.

Does this magician know where to find a gentle tone? Where to use a Tewar? Where is the “Shud Bhageshri” required?

Where does a scene need “Ayman Kalyan”? When will the drum beat be fun? When will the sound of the flute melt the ears?

When to talk loudly and when to lock a dialogue and play the clarinet in the background?

He knows the details of emotions, he knows the effects of all the melodies, and he weaves a story with a word.

He creates a character with melody and rhythm, he fills the color of music in love and creates a mysterious masterpiece like the movie “Lakin”.

Who Can Understand This Book?

The title of the book “Waqt Se Paray” is taken from Gulzar’s Film “Lakin”

This common-sense book cannot be understood by everyone. There are some conditions to understand this book.

  • If you love Saima Zaidi’s poetry and personality, you can understand this book.
  • If you are interested in Gul Sher’s quest for research, you will understand this book.
  • If you are familiar with the wisdom of Dr. Asman, then you can surely understand this book.
  • Most of all, if you love the art of “Gulzar”, then you will qualify and this book will reveal its meaning to you.

In “Waqt Se Paray”, the personalities of Saima, Gul Sher, Asman, and Gulzar are the details of all the passions of love.

These four corners are the fulfillment of this unique triangle.

Hence the book review by Ammar Masood ends in a way a short story is written.
