Islamabad: Polling time ends for the Azad Kashmir elections 2021. After poling now, votes are being counted.

Voting was suspended for a while due to a clash between PML-N and PTI workers at polling station No. 111 in Lepa constituency LA-33.

In Muzaffarabad, intermittent scuffles between activists of political parties in polling stations 25 and 26 of the LA-3 constituency affected the polling process.

In view of the tension in the polling station, more police personnel were deployed.

742 candidates were contesting for 45 seats in the AJK election 2021.

Tough competition is already being expected between PML-N, PTI, and PPP.

Political pundits had already predicted upsets in the Azad Kashmir elections 2021.

There are more than 3.2 million voters registered in the AJK election commission to cast their ballots for the AJK’s 45 seats in the Legislative Assembly.

742 candidates are contesting in the elections. Polling for these seats started at 8 am and continued till 5 pm without any break.

In 33 constituencies of AJK, former prime ministers & leaders of different political parties were in the running for the PM’s job.

In order to make the electoral process in Azad Kashmir transparent, 250 officers, including the presiding officers, had been given powers equal to those of a magistrate.

On the other hand, the Gallup Survey of Pakistan predicted in a poll that 44% of the people of AJK supported the PTI in the elections.

According to Gallup, 67% of Kashmiris declared Prime Minister Imran Khan as their favorite leader.
