ISLAMABAD: Petrol price increased by PKR 12.03 per liter.
The government has increased the price of petrol by PKR 12.03 per liter, after which the price of petrol reached PKR 159.86 per liter.
The federal government once again dropped petrol bombs on the people and increased the price of petrol by PKR 12.03 per liter for the next fortnight.
The Ministry of Finance has also issued a notification to increase the prices of petroleum products, according to which the new prices will be applicable from midnight and these prices will remain in force till February 28.
Details of Increase in Petroleum Prices:
In the summary, it was proposed to increase the price of petrol by PKR 12.03 per liter.
- The price of petrol has been increased by PKR 12.03 per liter, high-speed diesel by PKR 9.53 per liter, light diesel by PKR 9.43 per liter, and kerosene by PKR 10.08 per liter.
- After the recent hike, the price of petrol has gone up from PKR 147.82 per liter to PKR 159.86 per liter.
- The price of high-speed diesel has gone up from PKR 144.62 per liter to PKR 154.15 per liter while the price of light diesel has gone up from PKR 114.54 per liter to PKR 123.97 per liter.
- Similarly, the price of kerosene has been increased from PKR 116.48 per liter to PKR 126.56 per liter.
Earlier, the Prime Minister’s Office had received a summary of the increase in prices of petroleum products from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), which was sent back by the Prime Minister for review.
In the summary sent, it was proposed to increase the price of petrol by PKR 12.03 per liter in accordance with the conditions of IMF.
Sources said that the Prime Minister had sent a summary of the increase in petrol prices back to the Finance Ministry for review.
On other hand, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that they had no choice but to increase the petrol price.
