Imran Khan disqualified in the Tosha Khana reference
The Election Commission declared PTI Chairman Imran Khan ineligible while pronouncing the Toshah Khana reference decision.
The National Assembly seat of Imran Khan was declared vacant and also ordered to initiate due action against Imran Khan.
The Election Commission had given 2:00 pm today to pronounce the reserved decision of Tosha Khana filed against PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
At 2:00 PM, the PTI leadership in the Election Commission reached the courtroom.
The Election Commission courtroom was filled with a large number of journalists, lawyers, and PTI leaders. Among the leaders were Fawad Chaudhry, Asad Umar, Umar Ayub, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Shireen Mazari, Faisal Javed, Malika Bukhari, and others.
The decision against Imran Khan was pronounced by a five-member bench headed by the Chief Election Commissioner, on which the member of Punjab was not present. Later, a five-member bench delivered a unanimous verdict.
In its decision, the Election Commission disqualified Imran Khan for the crime of concealing assets in the Tosha Khana reference and ordered criminal action against him.
After the decision, Imran Khan ceased to be a Member of the Assembly and the Election Commission also declared his National Assembly seat vacant.
The Election Commission declared that Imran Khan was involved in corrupt practices, he is being disqualified under Article 63 One P for submitting a false statement, and criminal action should be initiated against him.
Foolproof security arrangements were made on the occasion of the verdict.
According to the Tosha Khana reference document against IK, Imran Khan received gifts worth 142 million rupees from Tosha Khana, while gifts worth more than 30 thousand rupees were received by paying.
