ISLAMABAD: Lt. General retired Asim Bajwa resigns as Chairman CPEC Authority on Tuesday Evening.
Chairman CPEC Authority Asim Saleem Bajwa had been in news due to the corruption scandals.
Earlier he also resigned from the post of SAPM on information affairs.
Asim Bajwa Resigns:
Asim Saleem Bajwa announced his resignation in a tweet on his official Twitter account.

Asim Saleem Bajwa said he bow his head before Allah Almighty for giving him an opportunity to raise & steer the important institution of CPEC Authority.
He termed CPEC Authority as one window for all CPEC projects, charting the future direction.
Lt. General retired Asim Saleem Bajwa said it Wouldn’t have been possible without full confidence& support of the PM & his Govt.
Asim Saleem Bajwa said that the course is set for future progression of CPEC, this journey will go on.
Asim Saleem Bajwa said that his best wishes to Kahlid Mansoor, who is fully equipped to take it forward.
In the end, he said that CPEC is a lifeline for Pakistan, it will transform us into a progressive and fully developed country InshaAllah.
On other hand, Federal Minister Asad Umar has welcomed the decision made by Asim Saleem Bajwa.

In his tweet, Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar said that he would like to thank Asim Bajwa for his services in playing an important role in advancing CPEC.
CPEC Authority New Chief:
Asad Umar also said that Khalid Mansoor is now being given the post of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for CPEC Affairs in place of Asim Saleem Bajwa.
“We welcome Khalid Mansoor to the post,” Asad Omar said.
- Khalid Mansoor has extensive experience in the corporate sector.
- He has also worked with Chinese companies.
- Khalid Mansoor has been directly involved in some of CPEC’s major projects.
According to Asad Umar, these qualities of Khalid Mansoor make him an ideal person to lead the next phase of CPEC.
