ISLAMABAD: Amendments in playing conditions of PSL 2022 announced.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the playing conditions for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022, which runs from January 27 to February 27.

Numerous changes have been made in the playing conditions for the seventh edition of the league.

At a time when the dangers of Coronavirus are looming all over the world including Pakistan and the ‘Omicron’ variant is spreading rapidly in the country, the playing fields in Pakistan are ready to be decorated once again.

The Pakistan Cricket Board is working to make the event a success and protect the game from the Coronavirus, with the PCP taking various precautionary measures.

Playing Conditions of PSL 2022

Measures taken by the PCB to prevent the fifth wave of epidemics due to the rapidly spreading variant of Coronavirus, Omicron, include amendments to the playing conditions of PSL 2022.

The following are the amendments made in the playing conditions for the seventh edition of the league.

In the event of a player’s corona test being positive, the team may, with the permission of the technical committee, add any player from the reserve pool to its squad as a substitute.

If the corona test of at least 13 players of a team is negative then the match of that team will not be stopped.

Playing XI, including an emerging cricketer, can have a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 8 local players.

However, in case of falling victim to Code 19, the team will be allowed to field all 11 local players.

The fielding side must complete 19 overs of the innings in the allotted time, otherwise for the last over of the match the team will be required to field one player less than 30 yards out of the circle.

One day has been reserved for the final. If the match is not completed on the reserve day then after 30 league matches the team at the top of the points table will be declared the champion.

According to the amendment made by the PCB, the TV umpire will watch the bowler’s nine balls.
